Step By Step

Examinations before the IOL surgery

FROM THE FIRST EXAMINATION UNTIL SURGERY

All IOL surgeries are preceded by a comprehensive assessment of eligibility and a consultation to help you select the perfect IOL. The surgery itself is very quick (taking approximately 10 minutes) and completely painless, and you will be able to go on with your daily routine without almost any trouble after taking a brief rest.

After surgery, you will have to do nothing else but enjoy your sharp vision returning to you with each day and week passing. The final result will be achieved after about one month.

your glasses
your previous ophthalmology records
your medical records of any internal disease from the past 2 to 3 years
your discharge letters from the past 3 years

If you wear contact lenses, do not wear them for 3 weeks if they are hard lenses, or 4 days if they are soft lenses Please wear your glasses when you come for your visit
You will have to spend about 2 hours in the ophthalmology unit for the examinations to be completed
You will not have to wait because you will have a pre-arranged appointment
Please bring someone who can accompany you. You will undergo a dilated eye examination, and then your vision will be blurred and your eyes will be sensitive to light for 2 to 3 hours. Therefore, it is recommended that you avoid driving.

A comprehensive eye examination is performed at our clinic

Visual acuity assessment: This test will assess how well you see the test board from various distances.
Dilated eye examination: In order to dilate your eyes, an eye drop will be applied. Next, an ophthalmologist will use a magnifying glass to asses the status of the fundus of the eye, and to identify any signs suggesting potential optic nerve injuries or other ocular diseases.
Intraocular pressure measurement: Upon applying an eye drop, the internal pressure in the eyes is measured using a dedicated device.
Your ophthalmologist may also perform other tests to have a better understanding of your eyes and of their structure. He or she will provide you with detailed information regarding the potential outcome of your IOL surgery.
